Gregory Bates a.k.a. 100Percent% was born and raised in the harsh ghetto of Brooklyn, New York. He resides in the East New York section of Brooklyn, which is infamous for its violent gang related crimes. 100Percent%, who is 20 years old, grew up in the middle of New Lots Avenue an area plagued with drugs and murder. His hard-hitting lyrics reflect the emotion and mentality of the neighborhood he hails from while also providing wisdom and insight to his peers. He currently attends Borough of Manhattan Community College where he wisely chose to continue his studies despite a difficult high school career. 100Percent% was expelled from a number of schools before eventually obtaining his high school diploma. He states, %u201CI was always the smallest one in my schools so a lot of the bigger dudes would try to establish their position by picking fights with me.%u201D 100Percent% was constantly involved with conflicts in his school as well as his neighborhood. It was a life-changing event at one of 100Percent%%u2019s high school%u2019s that made him become more serious about his studies and ultimately his hip-hop career. 100Percent% recorded a well-known song in 2005 called %u201CDis Nigga Dat Nigga%u201D that called out numerous people with whom he had issues without actually saying their names. This song was controversial because almost everyone who went to school with him and lived around him knew who was being addressed in the song. The beef turned deadly when 100Percent% got jumped at gunpoint. %u201CThe fact that I survived was a sign to me that I needed to stop playing around. If they would%u2019ve blew my head off that day I would%u2019ve died without ever doing anything noteworthy.%u201D After graduating high school 100Percent% went to work with his music career, completing the Murda Mobb mix tape, making appearances on numerous other mix tapes, and recently completed his first solo project entitled "Restless and Reckless".He is the leader of an entertainment group called Guap Gang Ent. 100Percent% has made several appearances on radio stations across the Pennsylvania area and has performed at different nightclubs in New York and Philadelphia.100Percent% is currently an unsigned artist, who is looking to get signed to a major label and make his mark on history as one of the greatest. He has already developed quite a fan base on Myspace.com as well as throughout several communities in New York. 100Percent% says, %u201CSome people are all about money and fame. That stuff is nice but I rap because I love it. I got a story to tell and I want everybody and their mama to hear it. If the hood could speak I would be that voice.%u201D
