A BRIEF HISTORY OF ABADDYON (by JUAN M. VÉRTIZ - Founder)
I´m from Mar del Plata, Argentina (South America), a very unussual place to make this kind of music, which is a combination of metal, classical music, progressive Rock, folklore, ballad,and all this in a foreign language to me: in English!. So, as you can imagine... is not that easy to spread this art.
In the beginning, I had a stable formation on my band, and the name and orientation of all the matters changes a lot. In 2002 I definitely baptized the band with the name ABADDYON, which is a name made with the mixture of the Apocalypse Angel´s name as it appears in the Holy Bible, but with no religious intention: "A king, the Angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in hebrew is Abaddon and in greek Apollyon, in Latin Exterminans" (Apocalypse 9:11)
After some replacements in the line-ups, I took the full control of the project.
Our music style has changed a lot: from basic power metal to an unclassifiable kind of heavy and progressive music.
