Adam Weinberg is a guitarist, composer, event producer, and video/film scorer. His latest release "On the Seventh Year" chronicles the seven years spent as a student, teacher, and member of the St. Louis academic and Jewish community. The record explores the combination of melodies heard in the still folk-influenced mid-western town with the deep rooted prayers of the half-a-dozen synagogues lining the streets where Adam spent the better part of the last decade. During those years, Adam had the great honor and pleasure of working with, and working for some of his musical heroes; including Matisyahu, The Slip, John Scofield, Ralph Towner, Tim Sparks, Rav Shmuel, Cyro Baptista, and others.
During Adam's time in St. Louis he studied under the guidance of guitarist/composer/film scorer William Lenihan, who in turn was a student of the late guitar virtuoso Joe Pass. Since its release, "On the Seventh Year" has received glowing reviews from critics as well from fellow musicians. Music from the recording is in steady demand for film soundtracks, and requests for live performances throughout the United States and abroad are ever present.
A Rabbi, after listening to Adam perform, stated that the music had a mesmerizing and healing effect, and while Adam's unsure of the scientific validity of those claims, his ultimate goal is to reach as many ears as possible, in the sincere hope that others experience a small taste of peace, healing, and a sense of connection through the music.
