Alima means healer of your spirit and soul, also skilled in song and dance. She was born and raised in the bay area. After she completed her degree in 2000, she moved to New York City to pursue her singing career. The openmic scene was an opportunity for her to gain exposure and more stage experience. Many doors opened for her in the great NYC. Her soul stylins and urban flavor has been showcased at venues like The Village Underground, Club 101, Izzy bar, Sugarbar, and at The Soul Café. She has also been featured in “Off-off Broadway” shows with “Creative Stages Nyc” and has performed with bands through out Manhattan. Her training has been in singing, dancing, and playing the piano, but in the last few years she has spent sharpening her skills as an artist/musician. Her deep, soulful voice has the blend of Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, and Sade, a fusion of R&B, hip-hop, and neo-soul. Currently, she is working on her solo project and will continue to cultivate her crafts as a singer, songwriter, and performer. Soon, she hopes her music and presence will make an impact on the music industry and make soul connections with people through out the world.
