We in Anodos Wake are veterans of the Colorado music scene with nearly a decade of recording and live experience despite our young age (our average age is around 24). We have musical influences ranging from Johnny Cash to Pantera, from Social Distortion to the Refreshments, but a style that is all our own. We are dedicated to rootsy hard rock and dedicated to solid song writing, poetic lyrics, memorable hooks, and an unforgettable stage presence. The boys and I have been playing music and writing songs together along Colorado’s front range with only one change of cast. We formed in 1995 under the name Guido and the Pimps with Danny Shaw on lead guitar, Alan Bruni on drums, and myself (Collin Downing) singing and on bass. We began making hard rock and grunge when our contemporaries were only interested in acoustic rock and other radio friendly genres. After several years in the Colorado music scene Kenny Shaw joined the newly renamed Under Suspicion in 1998 to complete the band’s current roster. With the Under Suspicion name we released two rock CDs and played many shows. Our latest acoustic CD was released under the new name, Anodos Wake. More than anything else I can say, we trust that our music will speak for our commitment to quality..
