Autobahn Citation was born from three different bands. Darryl DeLeon (vocalist) and Dustin Stichter (bass) were both members of the punk band A Long Holiday. When Dustin was later kicked out, Darryl made him a promise. That promise was if Dustin could assemble another group of musicians, Darryl would sing for him. Dustin was having a hard time finding the right people, so Darryl referred him to Spenser Nelson (guitar). Spenser had been playing with the band Pro-Cure with Tyler Higdon (pianist). They had since disbanded and Spenser was looking for another band. The two got together and were in search of a drummer. Tyler had some experience with snare, but not so much with set. When he was no longer available to play, Ben Newburn (drums) made himself available. Ben had been playing drums in a local church band but was yearning to get into something more mainstream. Darryl stayed true to his word and joined the others. However, after several practices, they all felt there was something missing; something to really accent the sound. Thus, Tyler had returned to play keyboard and added the necessary layer to Autobahn Citation. Since June 2005, the five teenagers have been working hard in order to perfect their sound. Blending soft-spoken melody with powerful rock fusion, they have created something that’s worth sharing with the world.
