"Music that moves you at multiple levels of your being," as one fan has described David Jon's songs. "You are left feeling as if body, mind, soul, and spirit are being engaged simultaneously, and one just doesn't find that very often in a rock-n-roll setting... or any style of music for that matter! It is rare to find yourself so moved by music that is so simple, yet so dense."Groovy, passionate, ballsy, touching, aggressive, and more--all without coming across as being, in any way, disjointed or disconnected. This is very much what David Jon's music is about. Beginning in the late 1980's as an instrumental musician in the vein of a Joe Satriani or Steve Vai, then turning towards acoustic instrumentation as a singer-songwriter, followed up by work as a DJ in select clubs, has left David Jon with a unique set of musical tools and talents to draw from in compiling his latest offerings (taken from a soon to be released 2 CD set--check out the epic track Wandering for a taste). The combination of searing electric guitar work, together with acoustic stylings, a plethora of Korg synths and samplers, and a passionate vocal approach to his songs and you may just get a sense as to what all the fuss spreading in Northern Michigan is about. While honing his craft in the studio during the week, David Jon couples recording sesssions for his new almbum with weekend gigs as guitarist/lead-singer in the power trio Black Sheep, performing covers of rock classics from the 60's to the present--including everything from Jimi Hendrix and The Who to Judas Priest and Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Papa Roach. David Jon can be contacted for future performances, as well as in studio session work as a multi-instrumentalist and singer, through Jeff Wilford at EZ Entertainment Agency (989-429-6062).
