Deathwish Nine is a four-piece band from Tujunga California. Ryan Krasnow on drums, Tony Orozco on guitar and vocals, Sean Locke on guitar and vocals, and Payam Ayazi on bass guitar. Under the name "Ragtime Revolutionaries" we appeared on two LA compilation CD's: "Keeping the Spirit alive" 1 &2. We performed the theme song for "Megas XLR" on Cartoon Network. The song is called "Chicks Dig Giant Robots" and you can hear it 9 pm Saturday Nights on Cartoon Network. Weve appeared regularly at the Mosaic Café, The Cobalt Café, The Huntington Park Community Center, and many other local venues. We have also appeared at the Knitting factory, The 14 Below, and The Whiskey alongside: Angel City Outcasts, Death By Stereo, Nural, Pillow Fight and Government Cheese. In 2003 we won the YMCA Equinox Battle of the Bands and received 10 free hours of recording at Crystal Lake Studio in Glendale. Our goal is to make music professionally and have fun. We have the most fun working in the studio and playing in front of live audiences. We are very determined, and dedicated; music is our passion and we will do whatever it takes to succeed in this realm. Our style is very diverse lyrically and musically. Our syle consists of punk music with melody, breakdowns and occasional solos. Our speed and intensity often differ from song to song. Our vocals consist of 2 vocalists switching off with occasional screaming. We all enjoy many different genres of music and our style reflects this. We enjoy all music including punk, metal, rap, hardcore, emo, ska, blues, jazz, swing, rockabilly and surf. Our lyrics range from strong political views to deeply emotional views. Label us whatever you feel is necessary but we believe in being true to yourself. If you cant sleep at night because of drama involving relationships with your friends, significant others, family (ext.) than it would be wrong not to write about it. We dont write political songs to change the world
and we dont write love songs to get laid; we write about whats on our mind.
