Dirtseed was formed in early 2003 by Mik and Mark, although the lineup was not complete until some months later.
The sound Dirtseed achieves is derived from grinding riffs and bone crushing grooves inspired by a huge range of influences. From the eerie experimental electronica EP intro track Corrosive Thoughts to the insanity of Rising From the Depths, Dirtseeds sound is as ranged as a band could get while sticking to a genre.
Its this combo that took Dirtseeds EP pRoJeKt: (DEMO)LiTiON to #8 in its second week on the MP3.com.au Metal chart. And from September 2004 to February 2005 Dirtseed have maintained a presence in the top 100, as well as having 3 songs in the top 20 on Artistopias Metal chart.
