Dr. Love Jones was born as Barry Wayne Jones, II on August 2nd 1992. Even at a young age he and the people that surrounded him could tell that he had a special blessing and calling hovering over his life. At age 2 is when he started singin. He began to sing in his church’s youth/children choir called Sunshine Band at William Street C.O.G.I.C. He later in his life moved to a new church (Great Faith Ministries Intl.) which is where he joined a new youth choir Small Soldiers. He was very spritual at young age,had trust and beleived in God. He moved from the house he was born in at Forrer on 8mile and Greenfield to Inverness at Puritan and Linwood. Which is where he would find most of his life long friends, and see real life and Death. After living in that neighborhood Barry began to change, and sad to say not for the better. His attitude got bad, fighting, and moved farther and farther away from God. Not because of the neighborhood just being experienced to things he had never seen before. Barry started to sing more secular songs more so than gospel. Gospel was always his first love but his passion was being drawn toward more love type songs, soul songs to be exact. After living in Puritan and Linwood for over 10 years he moved up in life and he, his mother and father moved to Southfield Michigan, which is where he now resides. He moved out the hood and felt that that was an accomplishment many people in his neighborhood that he and his brother BJames knew would want and couldnt do. In 7th grade Barry’s voice began to go through changes. His voice was very unpredictable, he would know if he could sing the same way one day after the next. He gave up on singing because he felt like God had abandoned him and his gift and forsaken him. But God let him know that he is still there and that this apart of his master plan. So like always Barry bounced back and started to train his voice with its new range whether it be the same the next day or not. And he learned to love his voice and make do with what he got. Barry is now attending Southfield-Lathrup Highschool(honor roll studen) and has joined Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit, to be one of the Mosaic Singers. Where ever life may take Barry he will always know that music will be apart of it!!
