My name is Heather Stacy Byford, I was born in Houston, Texas. I am still a native Texan, I am 33 years old and play The Native American Flute. I have flutes in both G and F minor. I am a member of The Spring Cypress and Greater Houston Native American Flute Circles. I have been playing for three plus years as a hobbiest, I have two children and was widowed in 2003 my Husband Chris Byford was my Musicians Heart and soul, he opened me to the possibilities of making my own music, as an extension of who I am. I play in his memory as well as a connection to my roots. I have been honored to play once with a Powwow Drum group that went threw my area and hosted at my college in 2004, they had drums and dancers present. That was my first public appearance. I will be playing and chanting in performances in the near future with my Flute Circle Groups. I look forward to growing greater with experiance, and hope others will enjoy the peace and soul I put into my playing.
