"Listening to my music is like loosing your virginity to a secret crush," says Etienne, laughing. "It's a guilty-pleasure, euro-disco-pop affair." Swiss American singer/songwriter Etienne just released his debut solo album, "When," a self-produced and self-released record on all major online distribution venues (i.e. iTunes, Napster, etc). The 12 demo songs were written, played, and recorded by Etienne during the second half of 2005. He is busy planning a tour to promote "When" in 2006 and is looking for the proper venues and musicians to make the project a success. :: BIOGRAPHY :: Cosmopolite Etienne was born in Amsterdam, NEW YORK and spent his early childhood in the CONGO (Africa), formerly ZAIRE. With his SWISS parents, he and his family moved to FLORIDA in '91 fleeing the political uproar of the Congolese people against their President Mobutu. Currently at COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO (Music Business), 21-year-old Etienne combines all his major influences into one, bringing the styles of ABBA, Elton John, the Bee Gees, and Phil Collins, together. He is a passionate dancer and performer, very much inspired by Michael Jackson. Etienne has his eye on the world and is eager to bring his music to every corner of the globe. He is fluent in French, Swiss German and English. Etienne supports and donates to organizations that address social, health, and environmental issues. :: MUSIC HISTORY :: Etienne began writing song lyrics in the summer of 2002. He "officially" began song-writing in October 2004, recording his first demo, "It Escapes Me," with Huck Walton, his first musical partner. Etienne auditioned with Caliber Records (Orlando, FL) in late 2004, singing the Bee Gees "Fanny Be Tender." The audition landed him a five demo song recording contract that expired in January 2005. He spent the next five months working with Walton on his second demo, "Chicago: The Sessions." In June, Etienne began recording what is now "When." He has already begun recording rough demos for his follow up album.
