The songs on this page were live studio and recorded at Insea Sound Shop in Nelsonville, Ohio with Nick Collura. I was playing and singing at the same time there is no voice over and what you hear is what was played. I want to thank Nick for taking the time to help me with this venture and doing such a good job recording and mixing my original music.
Jason loves to be in front of a crowd singing and playing his guitar. His on stage enthusiasm and talent have been a great joy to many people. With a voice that has a sound all his own and reminiscent of days gone by Jason%u2019s local fans have said he has an old country sound that brings back what's been lost from country music today. His love is country music and some southern rock.
Many of Jason's fans and friends have dubbed him a "country bunkin" and they have said he is "purely country" when it comes to his voice. The variety he can sing is almost unbelievable. He has sang songs by Travis Tritt, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Lynard Skynard, Kevin Sharp and many others as well as his own works.
Recently Jason sang karaoke at the Buck Wild Saloon in Nashville and many of the patrons enjoyed his talent very much. When he was introduced he was mentioned as "the one and only Jason Hook" and "if you haven't heard this guy sing you are in for a real treat" there was also a mention of "that's how country music is suppose to sound".
Jason's influences include Johnny Cash, George Jones, Travis Tritt, George Straight, Hank Williams, Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Chet Atkins and Porter Wagner, amongst others.
One day Jason hopes to be involved with singing for the troops and those who've been injured. He loves to give back to the community and help where he can. Jason has taken part in many fundraisers and benefits over the past couple years and any tips that were left for him go back to the cause.
