Jen Christesen is an 18 year old indendendant, emo, pop/rock artist from the greater Milwaukee area. Since the Age of 7 Jen Christesen fingers met with the key board and began to make beautiful music. At the age of 11 she created an 8 minute instrumental piece and only three years later she began writting songs that included both piano music, lyrics, and a vocal part. By the age of 14 she began to share her oringinal pieces before choir rehersals for her fellow classmates. They would crowd the piano and beg for more. She decided to begin home studio recording that summer in order to give them what they demanded. After independently releasing KNOW MY COLORS, ISLAND, and ABSENCE she began playing at a local teen center. A year later she grew up the courage to explore the downtown Waukesha area (right outside of Milwaukee) and began playing at some of the local coffee shops.
When she turned 16 she had independently released a few transitional CDs and a few hit CDs, the hits being PAINT, POINT OF VIEW, and the EMOTIONAL POSION EP. Also around the age of 16 she desided learn how to play bass and guitar , this won her a chance to play out a local parks ampetheater using her first atttempt at a band. During this time she started openning for bigger names in her area, big enough to be riverfest and upcoming summerfest acts. Last summer she played a short number at summerfest and is currently in the professional studio working on collaborating with a violinist, a guiatist, bassest, and back up vocalist under the name My Alibi. This is a name she set aside to seperate her dark, emo rock genre, inspired by Evanesence, Linkin Park, Straylight Run, dark classical piano, and vocal pieces. Other genres she's known for are emo accoustic and romantic rock piano styles, influenced by the Goo Goo Dolls, Something Corporate, Yellowcard, and Dashboard Confessionals.
She is currently focusing on MY ALLIBI, as she works towards recording her first professional release DECEPTIVE CADENCE featuring her three hit singles TRUST ME NOT, SLEEPING STRANGER, and BE NO MORE. The CD is expected out for sale at exclusive company in late June or early July.
