J.C.D. is a project dedicated to making hard rock music. Influenced by MSG, The Cult, Seven Mary Three, Godsmack, and half a dozen Southern Rock bands, J.C.D. has been writing rock music and slowly recording it over the past 4 years. Based in Scappoose, Oregon, the band's members came from local Portland bands such as The Peacemakers, The Barnburners and Green Shag Pile. Figuring they would never be signed by a major label due to their style of music, the band decided to create their own record label (Proactive Communications) and began recording Shaving the Porcupine. "The title of the album says it all," notes guitarst/vocalist/songwriter Stewart Millager. "Every step of this process has been painful."

J.C.D.'s second CD, "Virus 2.0" should be ready for release in November '05. It will have over 15 songs and takes the J.C.D. philosophy one step further. "We do not want to be pinned down musically," states Stewart. "If we feel like pulling off a jazz piece or a polka, then that is what we will do. We will not be locked into one of the convenient styles the major labels pigeon hole bands into."
