John Krane, leader of the popular St. Louis band Cat, Jump! (www.catjump.com), is also well known as a singer/songwriter, blending the worlds of writers like Neil Young and John Lennon in alt-countryish rock songs. Often musically daring, he has written songs in techno, punk rock, and jazz styles, but always returns to his alt-country roots.

His album "Out West" was written and recorded in three days, and has been compared to Nick Drake and Neil Young. Dark but somehow triumphant, the ten tracks on the album talk of lost love and depression.

When playing, John prefers small bars or coffeeshops, and is a lively, entertaining performer. His band, Cat, Jump!, is also available for booking.
