In Tempe, Arizona, John has been playing at local bars over the past few years while attending grad school. The songs available for download have been recorded from live performances, or from a home studio either in Arizona or in Cincinnati, Ohio, where John teamed up with Tom Herbort, an accomplished musician, who added soprano sax on some tracks.

John's music varies widely, often combining acoustic guitar with keys, and on-the-fly looping. Live performances include original music mixed in with covers ranging from David Gray and Death Cab for Cutie, to Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters to name a few.
