Vocalist, producer, and rapper, Joy C. Thompson was born in Memphis, TN (1987) and raised in Denver, CO, in a musical family with three brothers and a sister.
Growing up, Joy C. sang in a in a gospel show choir founded by her mother called the Colorado Ambassadors of Gospel, which is now known to be the best gospel show choir in Denver, CO. When she first started out singing in the group, she was about 7 yrs old. Everyone agreed that she was painfully shy, because when it was her turn to sing, she would cry. But as she grew older, everyone agreed that she had come a long way because now she can not resist a microphone.
Joy C. has performed many venues including the national anthem for the Denver Broncos, all of Denver's summer festivals, various Denver clubs, various clubs in Vail, CO, and many more that would earn her a lot of respect as a general artist.
Joy C. started composing beats in the 7th grade and actually started out making acid jazz and drum & bass. When she hit high school, she got more in to modern urban music and started to produce for various artists of different genres.
Her specialties include hip-hop, soul, R&B, drum & bass, house, acid jazz, and world.
Right now she is working on her first album entitled, "My Introduction" and she is also attending The University of Colorado at Denver for film/post production and sound engineering.
