Matthew "Knu York" Phipps is a native of New York city. Born and raised in the southside of the Bronx 17 years of his life. After dropping out of school, spending a short stint in jail, and being placed on probation for 5 years his family felt like it was time for a change in his life. He moved to Aurora(Aurcity), IL, in the summer of 2002. Deciding to go back to high school there he met a soon to be fellow group member Kendrick "Optimo" Green. Knu York hooked up wit Optimo to record his first studio song entitled "Puff." The buzz of the song spread quickly through the city. Soon the duo became a six wrecking crew who called themselves Fox Croft Connection named after the neighborhood they lived in. They were known as F.C.C. for short. The other members of F.C.C. were made up of Davion "DJ" Johnson, Shontrez "Trez" Hughes, Oscar "Lil O" Rodriguez, and Timothy "T.Cee" Caldwell. They dropped two mixtapes entitled "Its Aurtown Vol. 1," and "Still Aurtown Vol. 2." After they driopped the two mixtapes the six members cut it down to three. With Knu York, Optimo, and T.Cee remaining they dropped a mixtape entitled "aurSeason" in the late summer of 2006. Now after some differences Knu York is doing his thing solo working on both a mixtape and album. His mixtape entitled "From N.Y. to Aurcity" will drop in spring 2007. Bio by Melissa Vasquez
