NOT I is the new album by Ladd Everitt, a singer/songwriter from Washington, DC.

Self-produced and recorded, NOT I features 9 tracks of emotional music that is not easily defined.

"When I was a young boy in the 70's, I fell in love with the pop acts I would hear on the radio every day - America, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Dan Fogelberg...” says Everitt. There was an emphasis on acoustic guitar, melody and arrangements."

Everitt continues, "Today you can hear that same spirit in players like Lewis Taylor, Raul Midon and Elliott Smith (R.I.P.)."

But NOT I is broader than just pop. It embraces a range of genres, including jazz, Latin, rock, blues, country, prog, and even metal.

It's also a personal record. "It's about that time in your life when you finally decide to commit and be responsible to another human being," explains Everitt. "When you finally let down those walls, those carefully crafted defenses, you realize you don't know who you are underneath all of it."
