  The art of romance is the class that 28 year old Leonard Dozier teaches. With a smooth, velvety baritone he evokes memories of the very late Luther Vandross. Yet, he has very much tapped into his own artistry and has a gained a nice following. "I'm such a spiritual person. Art and spirituality are not separate entities to me. They are very much married to each other." This marriage is evident in his latest work titled Heaven, which will be featured on smooth-jazz instrumentalist Michael Downing's upcoming cd. In fact, Dozier will be displaying that marriage of romantic art and spirituality in his next project which he is reluctant to share. "It is going to be something that has never been done before. That's all I can tell you." After being away from the music industry for several months, he is anxious to add to a moderately successful career that has included performances at the world-renowned Bitter End in New York and co-writing the beautiful When I Say with Grammy-nominated musician George Mesterhazy. "I feel as if I am experiencing a rebirth or renaissance," he says. "I'm getting ready to do put out some great art. They say 10 years of doing something defines greatness at it.
