Australian artist - with the American Name.
Old School Funk/Rock and Blues - meets new school sounds.
The result.....Memphis Nights.
Raised in country Victoria on Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker and Springsteen, I hibernated(writing, composing and recording).
Emerging with over 350 original pieces, I then put together a pub/rock band to suit the music tastes of the area.
"The Swamp Cats" played for 5 years in just about every backwater bar, party and festival that was going at the time, and is where I got given the name Memphis Nights, because of my American influences and style of music.
At the end of 2003, I was called to Melbourne, and had to leave my band.
Now as a soloist with my own recordings, I now have my first quality CD, with a flavour of city life sounds and influences.
A new band will soon come together when I return to the live scene.

The People Vs Memphis Nights
---------------------------------------------
Diving into the dark middle to low class world of Melbournes' sub-culture, this album opens a new generation of Cinematic pop.
17 tracks featuring thick funk Bass lines and catchy guitar riffs, layered with powerful samples, Brass and strings, this fresh recording takes the listener to a world of the lost, underprivileged and the deprived, with an undertheme of hope and optimism.
Memphis puts his undeniably recognizable voice to the mix - The gravelly fire that burns through the rock tracks, the soft haunting tones that sweeps through the ballads, and the funky soul drive that
pulses on the dance/funk tracks. All collaborate to form a piece of work that goes beyond the realm of just radio, but moves into the world of Film and TV.
With enough material for a further 3 or 4 releases, Memphis Nights will continue to grow and craft his work, and to play a continuing role as one of Australia's more prolific and pioneering artists.
