Peter Kay began his studies under Dr. John Moody while in high school. Kay then attended Furman University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Music and studied composition briefly under Dr. Mark Kilstofte. He received his Masters in Music Composition at the University of South Carolina where he studied under Dr. John Fitz Rogers, Dr. Samuel Douglas, and Dr. Reginald Bain. Kay is currently working toward a Doctorate in Musical Arts at the University of South Carolina, emphasizing Music Composition and minoring in Recording Engineering. Kay's music is highly expressive and most often tonal, though he loves serial and centric musical techiniques as well.
