Formed in late April of 2008 by Doug Ware (Vocals) and Steve-o Newhouse (Guitar), Other People's Children (also known as OPC) was originally founded as an acoustic-grunge project. They would soon be joined by Cory Culligan (Bass) and began playing open mics around Fort Collins. Within 2 weeks of play, the band was booked for their first gig, and had a month to tighten their sound and gain a drummer. Just days before the show, a drummer was found to fill in for the night, and the show was a success. With steady increase of plays on myspace and more and more shows being booked, Other People's Children are growing up quick! They recruited Andy Fenton on drums, and the sound became defined. Their music seeks to bring the energy and angst of early 90's grungers, with the thrashing vibe of some of todays top metal acts. Contemperaries have been listen to vary from Faith No More to Seven Mary Three, undertones of A Perfect Circle and Smashing Pumpkins, laid to rest with Lamb of God and Between The Buried and Me. OPC Is bound to stick around. The release of their first ep, entitled Waking Up With Morningwood, is bound to lift these original thrashers to the top. It includes 6-tracks that vary moods so fast, you'll think you're having a panic attack. The self published debut is set for release on Dec. 13th, 2008.

This isn't the first time these members have played together though. Andy and Steve-o have played together in different punk and hard rock projects including Furnace and Dyslexic Perception. Steve, Cory and Doug also once played together in an all improv metal band known as Cragmore. Doug has also played in several other alternative and black metal projects.

Influences include Circa Survive, Blue October, Between The Buried and Me, Faith No More, Pantera, Acid Bath, Black Label Society, Thrice, Lamb of God, At The Gates, Deftones, Team Sleep, and a wide spectrum of other influences.
