Nelson Lee Willis Jr. was born in Ann Arbor, MI., on the 18th of November 1976. The child of Nelson Willis Sr. and Janet Willis was raised majority of his life in Harrisburg, Pa. Nelson Willis Sr. was heavily influenced by the Motown sound in the early 60’s, as well as his mother. The youngest of four children began to see that life has its highs and lows. Subjected to an abusive environment at a tender age, Nelson Willis Jr. turned to music to escape the harsh realities of his life. Nelson Sr. would often force Jr. and his three sisters to harmonize in the wee hours of the night. Being a guitar player his self, Nelson Willis Sr. had a deep passion for music; a passion which was instilled in Nelson Jr. especially. A spellbound young Willis Jr. would mimic every Michael Jackson move; this was the only entertainment for a child from a broken home. Nelson Jr.’s mother, Janet was a church going woman and a hard working mother. Not being well educated, Janet was forced to work two & three jobs to keep the family above water. As years passed, Nelson Jr. seen he had the gift to entertain. He soon began to mold his talents. Penhead has the potential to captivate the music world for years to come.
