Peter has been interested in music since his early youth, his parents were musicians too, they indeed had some important influence on him, especially when it comes to classical music, musical, blues and jazz.
Peter started playing music a long time ago, he was very keen on progressive rock in those days (classical rock, hardrock, jazzrock), music he still likes. But he got interested into many kinds of music, like medieval and classical music, jazz, world music, experimental music, avant-garde and so on as well. Peter plays all instruments himself, on some other tracks on older CDs he had some guest musicians.
Peter is composing his own music and writing his own lyrics. He's not so keen to play covers, although he could mention a lot of songs and music written by other musicians, attracting him.
Peter has studied philosophy and anthropology, these sciences and books have influenced me strongly (a.o. Kant, Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Habermas and Lyotard).
He is also a proud member of the fantastic progressive rockband Morphosis.
In the meantime Peter has released 3 CDs.
The first one has been released in 1999, entitled "Silence Before The Storm". There are 8 tracks, varying from symphonic rock to experimental music. In the meantime this one has been re-released and digitalized/remastered and is now available on The Magenta Label, marketed by CreativeSpace Inc. through Amazon, iTunes and other famous music selling sites, entitled "Once Upon My Time".
The second CD has been released in 2003, entitled "Thesymu - A Dream - The Original Movement", based on a book he wrote in 1990. In fact it's a big and long track, with a modern classical influence. He will be re-releasing this one, with a shorter name, together with a new track, but certainly not earlier than in 2010.
On January 2, 2009 Peter released his newest and third CD, entitled "Afterwards", six of the seven tracks are available here in the menu MEDIA. A short description about the tracks: (1) Overture Of Elegy - written for his deceased father, a modern classical piece; (2) Emotion - an electronic symphonic piece about human emotions in general; (3) The Question In Mind revised - a vocal track, acapella, with some extra sounds, sometimes with a "medieval" tone setting; (4) Come To Life - again an electronic symphonic piece, he's declamating some words himself, about being positive in life; (5) Choral Toccatale - a modern church organ piece; (6) Finale Romantica - an instrumental classical piece relating to the "gradual process or minimal music" and (7) Visit To The Earth-a story - this is a track produced for a stage production in 2008, he wrote the story himself and one of his best friends and musician Peter Swart wrote the music on his request, of course he also contributed some to this music. You can also view a video in MEDIA, a live version of The Question In Mind revised. This CD is now officially released by The Magenta Label, marketed by CreativeSpace Inc. and available with Amazon, iTunes and several other famous music selling sites.
