RagTop started as a band wanting to play a few shows doing a few covers. Jeremy Bankhead started writing music and a few months later the band was ready to hit the studio. In 2006, RagTop was introduced to and wowed their hometown fans when they headlined the Patio Stage at the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival. In 2007 RagTop played 126 shows and in 2008 another 96 shows. RT has shared the stage with acts such as Gary P. Nunn, Honeybrowne, Mickey and the Motorcars, Bleu Edmonson, and The Eli Young Band. August of 2007 RagTop released their debut album Wheels Down. The album is a journey not only of the life of the band but also the growing of the band. It is a very good mix of Texas Country, Nashville Country, and Rock. 2008 saw the band taking a much needed break. RT actually thought of calling it quits but after a few months it became evident that the best of RagTop has still yet to be seen. Look to see RagTop busy touring again in 2009 and maybe an EP to give all a glimpse of what's next.
