Rayne grew up in Virgie, Kentucky along with his parents, 1 sister Carolyn and half-brother Eugene Good from his mother's first marriage. His dad, a disabled Korean War veteran, was a carpenter, which in the 60's paid very little money.
Rayne met a man named Danny Bailey, a former Nashville recording engineer who had opened his own recording studio in Campbellsville. Rayne had talked to him about doing an album. Bailey impressed by Roberts'writing ability and eager to work with him priced the project at a very affordable price. WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS was soon underway. Bailey set the session up. The saga of this story is far from over and where it goes...nobody knows. From the bottom of the valley to maybe the middle of the mountain again, or better yet to hell and back.
