Music can be the cry of the heart yearning for deeper things.
My name is David and I have been the pastor of a small town church for over 17 years.
The name of my band is "Salvage." My nephew totaled his truck and my brother in law bought it back, restored it, drove it for a couple of years and then gave it to me. It does everything I ask it too and has not failed me to this day.
My life is like that. I was a serious SD& R&Roller on the slippery slope to a totaled life. I hit the proverbial bottom and crashed. No one was betting that I would survive. No one would insure me for the future. Drugs in my body, lies in my head, failed relationships and a baby led me to the brink of death. I was totaled.
But my master Jesus Christ redeemed me from the scrap heap of my humanity. He bought me back with a salvaged title for now and insured my future. More than that, He is willing to restore me and use me for His purposes. I am salvage and He is Lord.
My music is a reflection of that mingling of the struggle of my humanity and the unyielding faith that God will continue to keep me and use me no matter where I go or how I feel. Praise His name! He is faithful.
