Thanks for checking out the "Salvage" band site.
Although each of us have been playing in different bands and worship teams for many years, we have only been playing together as a band since April 2008. We played together at a revival meeting that month and decided to do some music together. The more we played, the more we enjoyed being together so here we are.
"Salvage" is: Rick Tustison: Electric rhythm/lead guitar/background vocals, Roger Sanderson: songwriter, bass, acoustic guitar, Lead/background vocals, David Sanchez: Songwriter, Electric Rhythm/lead guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Lead/background vocals, Mike Dunker: Drums, Jeff Sanchez: Sound technician.
The name "Salvage." comes the concept or redemption. My nephew totaled his truck and my brother in law bought it back, restored it, drove it for a couple of years and then gave it to me. It does everything I ask it too and has not failed me to this day.
Every member of "Salvage" is like that. We were all serious SD& R&Rollers on the slippery slope to a totaled life. We have testimonies of hitting the proverbial bottom and crashing. No one was betting that we would survive. No one would insure us for the future. Drugs in our bodies, lies in our heads, failed relationships led each one of us to the brink of death. We were totaled.
But our master Jesus Christ redeemed us from the scrap heap of our humanity. He bought us back with a salvaged title for now and insured our future. More than that, He is willing to restore us and use us for His purposes. We are salvage and He is Lord.
Our music is a reflection of that mingling of the struggle of our humanity and the unyielding faith that God will continue to keep us and use us no matter where we go or how we feel. Sometimes our songs expose raw nerves that aren't always pretty to think about but in the end every song is based on hope for the future while not neglecting the reality of the unseemly parts of life. Praise His name! He is faithful.
