I have been writing songs since I was a kid and I consider myself an amateur artist who always seems to have a tune in his head - which saves me the trouble of downloading them from iTunes.

My approach to songwriting is that I'll get a melodic idea which I'll then whistle, hum and sing until I'm able to flush it out into a full blown song.

Then I cast about ideas for what the song is about - this can take days, months or years before the lyrics are written. Of course, this is complicated considerably by the fact that I have very little to say, but that's another story.

I write in virtually every style including country, folk, pop, spiritual, new age, broadway, celtic, childrens and easy listening. In this regard, I should note that five of the eight songs offered here were inspired by a book written by my brother Mike called "The Corridor". The rest are from musicals that I've started but for one reason or another (for want of a decent script, for instance) I've never completely finished.

From time to time, I have had aspirations of launching a professional career as a songwriter but that dream always seems to recede in the face of looming financial disaster were I to rely on music as my sole source of income. Still, I keep on writing because it's something that is very difficult for me to "turn off" and also because I hope somebody someday might listen and enjoy.
