Coming out of the Nicosia's underground scene (Yes, there is one) The Drift has released the first album called "under the skin".

The main person behind the Drift is Yiannis Tryfon. Born to a Cypriot father and Canadian mother, Yiannis grew up embracing both cultures just the same. At the age of 13 he picked up his first guitar, a battered acoustic, for the sole purpose of impressing his first love. Moved to London, U.K to follow his dream. For two years he worked in Rollover Studios where he had the chance to work with the sound engineers and producers of Leftfield, Catatonia, Frankie goes to Hollywood and Dimitri from Paris.

In 2004 Yiannis moved back to Cyprus. Through a group and old acqaintances Yiannis joined up with the singers that would bring the voice to his music.
