“Abruptly entering the lives of many” is precisely what The Hopeless North from Upstate New York (Plattsburgh) has accomplished at a formidable rate. The band formed in late 2004 from the remains of numerous former bands from the North Country. Kyle Dyer (vocals), Chris Parmelee (guitar), Marcus Santa (guitar), Mike Warren (Drums), and Nate Banker (Bass) realized they were the determined members from each corresponding band and came together to form a hardcore metal, power rock sound. The music is heavy, catchy and semi-complicated, along with the lyrics which have a remarkable amount of inspiration and depth; they are destined for success even in their hometown, an area that is not very prosperous nor musically endowed. Coming from a local music scene where the excitement is minimal in the bands dejected location, The Hopeless North has decided they won't stop until they prove their name to be an oxymoron. For now the bands' focus is on writing new music, promoting themselves, and keeping public at national venues in hopes of expanding their fan base.
