The Story So Far……...... A chance finding of an old copy book full with lyrics brought the writing talent of Gary O’Neil to the attention of Diarmuid Coughlan (Citizen DC). After returning the copy to its rightful owner and a quick chat followed by a doorstep performance of one of the rap’s from the copybook it was straight to the studio to lay down a track. With Diarmuid writing the music and Gary laying down the vocals they started to put a few tracks together. Soon after, Gary brought along a fellow rapper Andy Fields and started rapping as a duo. The missing link arrived a few weeks later with the introduction of Amy to the group. The combination of the flowing lyrics from Gary, aggressive vocal style of Andy and Amy’s angelic voice made for an interesting and fresh approach to their hip hop style. At 16, they are all still in school and find time for the recording at the weekends and evenings. The variety of different styles of music gives them a certain appeal. – From the sweet slow flowing beats of “Message to God” & “Over the Rainbow” to the aggressive feel on “Whos Laughing” and “Conflict”, there will be something for everyone on their debut album. “The Kurupt Crooks” Hail from Hartstown on Dublin’s Northside. They have become local legends among their fellow school peers and built up a steady fan base in the area.
