I discovered and began playing this unique instrument ("the Hang") one year after it was invented. That was over seven years ago. I first saw it in the news and the following day travelled to the where they are made in order to find out more - and left the factory the same day with my first Hang. Although I have had formal percussion lessons for over 10 years, I am self-taught at the Hang - as it new, there was no opportunity for formal lessons. There are no formal partitions for the Hang. But is is perfect for improvisation which I prefer in any event, the most! Thus, I play melodies as I feel them and the result is both individual and satisfying. I am available for performances, including concerts, events, receptions, back round music or simply to play in order to allow more people to discover this instrument!
