After a million years of free-floating in space from galaxy to galaxy, at last the mothership of The Plastic Pals has found a permanent crew and a permanent base in – of all places in Universe – Stockholm, Sweden. This eminent outofthisworldish four-piece guitar rock combo was formed in Spring 2005 when songwriter/guitarist/singer Håkan Soold brought together Anders Sahlin – a guitarist whom he played with in the band Piglet in the 1980´s – with Sweden´s answer to Sly&Robbie Olov Öqvist (drummer with Caroline Says/Cleveman Rössel Band/Plåster and Wan Light) and Bengt Alm (bass player with Caroline Says/Cleveman Rössel Band and Wan Light). If you take the fiery guitars of bands like Television and Steve Wynn&The Miracle3 and why not The Flamin´Groovies with a touch of Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground, a steady and groovy rhythm base provided by the bass and drums and mix that with a good sense of melody you´re getting quite close to the flavour and sound of The Plastic Pals – the band that´s fun to be with.
